Ying Yang, PhD, LPCC

Dr. Yang received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from
Pennsylvania State University. She also received her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Specialist in Education from the University of Florida. Dr. Yang has had over five years of professional counseling experience, specializing in mental health counseling. Dr. Yang is fluent in English and Mandarin and has experience in
conducting counseling services and supervision in both languages.
Dr. Yang has counseled adult and child clients of diverse ethnicities, races,
socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, and sexual orientations with relevant
therapeutic issues in multiple counseling settings, including university clinic, community agency, and K-12 schools. Dr. Yang's work has enabled her to develop and apply skills in a variety of areas, including individual counseling, trauma and crisis interventions, strength-based clinical assessment, the design and implementation of treatment plans, as well as the development of workshops and trainings.
Dr. Yang’s clinical and academic experience has helped her acquire theoretical and
clinical expertise in evidenced-based treatment. She has been trained and practiced in various therapeutic approaches. Her theoretical orientations include Cognitive
Behavior Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, and Accelerated Experience Dynamic
Psychotherapy. She also uses core conditions from Person-Centered Therapy to create a non-judgmental space for the clients to feel safe and supported in therapy. Dr. Yang is insightful, patient, and flexible. She tailors the treatment based on clients’ needs and feedback. Dr. Yang is skilled at meeting the clients where they are. She is passionate about supporting and helping clients to achieve their treatment goals.
