Sharon Qi, PhD, LPCC, BCBA

Sharon Qi is a highly qualified professional with a diverse background and a broad range of
expertise in the field of education and counseling. Her academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's degree in Counseling Education from San Jose State University. Also, she holds a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) license, specializing in treating individuals with autism spectrum disorders at various levels.

 

Her focus is on assisting adolescents, young adults, and their parents in navigating life
transitions, especially during the crucial stages of high school, college, and early career
development for individuals with high-functioning autism. Meanwhile, as an APCC (Associate
Professional Clinical Counselor), she has additional treatment options to address emotional
regulation challenges in social interactions among her autism clients.

 

Sharon's professional journey is marked by a diverse set of experiences, ranging from teaching
students of different age groups in school districts to conducting research at the prestigious
Stanford Research Institution (SRI). She has also served as a product/program manager at a high-technology company. Currently, she is part-time teaching and working at San Jose State
University. This varied background has equipped her with a deep understanding of individuals
from different walks of life, allowing her to approach her clients with empathy and apply
effective motivational strategies.

 

Her training encompasses various treatment approaches, supporting her commitment to tailoring solutions to individual needs. Sharon is particularly interested in Applied Behavior Analytics (ABA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Bibliotherapy, and Client-Centered Multicultural Therapy. Her therapeutic service involves identifying the primary sources of stress, understanding environmental factors contributing to stress, emotional disturbance, or depression, and customizing treatment solutions on a case-by-case basis.

 

Sharon's strong passion for helping clients is evident in her belief that every individual deserves a better quality of life. With her diverse skill set, rich life experiences, and commitment to personalized treatment, she strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those she serves.

,育有一女一男,两个孩子都已经成年并就业。因此,她的丰富人生经历使她在与有特殊
需求的个体交往时,更加容易沟通,更容易体谅对方,也更能够灵活运用各种治疗手段。
